Vikileaks hasn’t ended my political career – Vicky Hamah

Former Deputy Minister of Communications, Victoria Hamah, has, in her first ever media interview, since her US$1m controversy, said the scandal has not ended her political career.

Speaking to STARR DRIVE host Bola Ray on STARR 103.5FM Monday, Ms Hamah said: “Politics has no end…I’m in politics, I’m a politician. I live for that”.

“I think women must have representation even in our highest decision-making”, the former Ablekuma West parliamnentary candidate of the governing National Democratic Congress said.

Hamah added that she was still opened to the possibility of running for political office again in the future.

The young Minister was engrossed in intense political controversy months back after she was heard on a secret tape saying she did not want to ruin her chances in government with needless fights with her boss when she had not even made a million dollars yet.

On the tape, which was recorded by her cousin-driver, Ms Hamah was also heard slamming a colleague Deputy Minister at the time, Rachel Appoh, for needlessly fighting her boss – Nana Oye Lithur – at the Gender, Children and Social Protection Ministry, instead of being submissive.

She was sacked by President John Mahama barely 24 hours after the tape, which surfaced November 2013 was leaked and aired by several radio stations across the country.
