Vienna fire has not affected our work – Prostitutes

Sex workers who ply their trade around the Kwame Nkrumah Circle in the Central Business District of Accra have assured the public that the fire that razed down Vienna City last night has not in anyway affected their business.

“The fact that Vienna City has been razed down by fire means it has affected our business, no. None of our members got hurt. It means the fire has not affected us in anyway. We are still intact”, Lydia Brown, General Secretary of Sex Workers of Ghana (Circle Wing) told Fiifi Banson in interaction on Anopa Kasapa on Kasapa 102.3 FM, Friday.

Lydia further told Banson that they were very fortunate that the incident happened at a time that “most of our members were on their way to the place”.

“When we got to the scene and realized that the place has been gutted by fire, we moved to other places nearby and business was good”, she noted.

When asked whether they (sex workers) have visited the scene to commiserate with managers of the entertainment facility, Lydia answered in the negative but stressed that they will do so when all their members return home from last night’s duty.
