Victim identifies culprit during an identification parade

Tarkwa(WR), Jan. 23, GNA – A Tarkwa Circuit court has remanded Atta Kese 53, a farmer in prison custody for allegedly defiling a four-year-old girl.

Kese pleaded not guilty and would re-appear on January 26. Police Inspector Florence Tawiah, prosecuting told the court presided over by Mr Samuel Obbin Diawuo that the accused went to the victim’s house and met her and a junior brother. She said accused called the victim with the intention to send her but lured her to a nearby cocoa farm, fondled and defiled her. The prosecution during the process, accused heard some foot steps took to his heels and left the victim who was brought home by some chainsaw operators who rescued her.

She said victim was sent to the palace of Chief of Gyapa near Wassa Akropong in Amenfi East District where she identified the accused during an identification parade.

The prosecution said accused was arrested and after investigations charged with the offence.
