Vicenza welcomes Show of Talents

With a population over 5,000 thick, the Ghanaian community in the Italian city Vicenza always gets the city buzzing with Ghanaian activities.

Come Saturday, 18th April, the focus will be to unearth talents in a musical show under the name, ‘MENTOR DI ITALY’, to be staged at the 380-seater Theatre of the City Council (Teatro Comunale – located at Via Mazzini 39, near Vicenza Questura).

This will be an opportunity for a number of Ghanaians in Italy who are aspiring to be musicians to showcase their talent and the night, expected to be thrilling, will attract 45 contestants of which the first 15 would be awarded special prizes.

The show is being organised by S2 Music Production, a new label on entertainment, driven by Bretuoba Kwaku Agyemang, Bismark Bawuah and Jessica Koffi – all young Ghanaian Radio Presenters making their mark in Italy.

Jessica Koffi, who spoke in a short interview about the show, said contestants will be judged and awarded marks on their voice, singing ability, stage performance and appearance. “Our intention is to help talented, aspiring and underground Ghanaian musicians in Italy to come out as full time artistes,” she pointed out, and added contestants will be allowed to sing any song from their own creation or from their favourite artistes in gospel, hip-life or highlife.

The winner of Miss Ghana in Italy 2008, Cindy Kuffour, will be present among a host of special invited guests to grace the occasion and performing artistes will include Oboy Sika (from Modena) and Eric King (from Brescia) – two young Ghanaian artistes who are hitting the limelight in Italy with their songs.

The programme which begins at 6p.m is being sponsored by S2 Music Production, Image Info Tech, Nhyira Radio and Radio Shepherd.
