Vice President leave Accra for Maputo Summit

Accra, June 21, GNA – Vice President Aliu Mahama left Accra this evening for Maputo, Mozambique to attend the fourth summit of the Africa Caribbean Pacific Heads of State and Government.

The Deputy Minster of Trade and Industry, Hajia Alima Mahama and officials of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Finance and the Office of the Vice President accompanied him.

Already in Maputo are the Mr Yaw Osafo Maafo, Minister of Finance and Economic Planning and the Mr Akwasi Osei Adjei Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs.

The summit, which is from June 21 to 23, is under the theme ” Together Shaping our Future.

It is expected to review the progress achieved in the implementation of decisions and undertakings as agreed at the third summit.

They include World summit on sustainable development and the role of ACP group on the international scene and participation on international trade.

A meeting of ACP Foreign Ministers and Council of Ministers, which would take place from June 21 to 22, would precede the summit.
