Vice President Commends Work Of Parliament

Accra, Sept 3, Vice-President John Evans Atta Mills today commended the work of Parliament, saying it has made great strides in its short period of existence. “Although Parliament has been in existence for only four years, so far, we have been very impressed with their efforts towards economic growth,” he said. Professor Mills was receiving a 25-man delegation of the West African Inter-Parliamentary Seminar, at the Castle, Osu. The delegation is part of 80 participants from 12 countries attending the fifth seminar of Parliaments in the sub-region. They were led to to the Castle by Mr John Henry Owusu- Acheampong, Majority Leader. Prof Mills said it is good for legislators in the sub-region to share ideas because their countries face similar problems which demand similar solutions. He asked the Parliamentarians to enact good laws since as democracies their governments have to govern by the rule of law.
