Vice President calls on Bolga Naba

The Vice President, Alhaji Aliu Mahama on Thursday reiterated government’s determination to improve the quality of education, health care and social infrastructure in the country.

He, therefore, appealed to all and sundry to offer constructive criticisms to enable the government achieve its objectives.

The Vice-President said this when he paid a courtesy call on the Paramount Chief of Bolgatanga Traditional Area, Naba Martin Abilba III at Bolgatanga as part of a three-day familiarization tour of the Upper East Region.

The Vice President told the people that because he comes from that part he was familiar with problems that exist there and mentioned education and agriculture as some priority areas the government intended to improve.

Alhaji Mahama said the New Patriotic Party (NPP) would honour its campaign promise of improving agriculture in the three Northern Regions.

Naba Abilba said the region was capable of producing food enough to feed a greater percentage of Ghanaians and, therefore, appealed to the Vice President to initiate comprehensive measures to assist farmers to ensure increased food production.

Naba Abilba advised against bush fires and promised to initiate a programme to educate his people on the dangers of its occurrences.

Mr Mahami Salifu, Upper East Regional Minister, Mr Moses Baah, Member of parliament (MP) for Sisala and Deputy Minister of Health, Mr John Achuluwor, MP for Navrongo Central and Deputy Minister for Transport and Communications accompanied the Vice President.
