Veep’s wife donates hospital items to four constituencies

Accra, Feb. 10, GNA – The wife of the Vice President, Mrs. Lordina Dramani Mahama, has on behalf of her organization, the Alternative Source o= f Income Programme (ASOIP), presented a quantity of hospital items to four constituencies in the country. The equipment, presented through the respective Members of Parliament (MP) of the beneficiary constituencies, is to support deprived health centres in those areas, according to an official statement copied to the Ghana News agency in Accra.

Items presented include hospital beds, theatre clothing, wheel chairs, crutches, blankets, bed sheets, pillow cases and uniforms for doctors and nurses. The recipients included the MP for Ho East, Madam Juliana Azumah Mensah, MP for Mfantseman West, Mr Aquinas Tawiah Quansah, MP for Savelugu, Madam Mary Salifu Boforo and the MP for Ketu South, Mr Albert Zigah. Thanking Mrs Mahama and ASOIP, Madam Boforo said her constituency was grateful for the donation, adding that the beds and wheel chairs would be presented to the maternity ward of the district hospital.

Mr Zigah observed that the donation had come at the right time because a number of health centres in his area lacked such items. Mrs Mahama has over the past two years presented a quantity of hospita= l equipment to the La General Hospital, Maamobi Polyclinic and some health centres in the Brong Ahafo Region. She has also adopted and supported numerous orphanages in the Greater Accra, Brong Ahafo and Northern Regions.
