Veep visits Russia’s Chief Justice in hospital

Vice President Kwesi Bekoe Amissah-Arthur on Tuesday visited Chief Justice Vyacheslav Mikhailovich Lebedev of Russia, on admission at the 37 Military Hospital in Accra.

Chief Justice Lebedev, who was on a four-day visit to Ghana, was involved in a motor accident in Ho, Ghana’s Volta Regional capital, last Monday and has since been referred from the Ho Central Hospital to the military hospital in Accra.

The Vice President told journalists after the visit: “He gave me a very firm handshake.”

Vice President Amissah-Arthur expressed gratitude to the doctors and other medical personnel at the facility for the care of the Chief Justice and three others on admission.

Colonel Samuel Adjei, Commanding Officer of the 37 Military Hospital, said Chief Justice Lebedev and the police officer on the entourage were in stable condition and responding to treatment.

The two others involved in the accident have been treated and discharged.

The Vice President was accompanied by Ghana’s Chief Justice, Georgina Theodora Wood; Mr Mark Woyongo, Minister of Defence and Mr James Dotse, a Supreme Court Judge.
