VEEP attends DCE’s Funeral

Guo (UW) Nov 28, GNA – Vice President Aliu Mahama on Sunday attended the funeral of late Sylvannus Ganfaa, former Lawra District Chief Executive, who died last month with a call on the family to accept the mishap as divinely.

He described the late DCE as a perfect gentleman who abhorred injuring the feelings of people he worked with, adding that “it is normally such good people that God wants them to be by his side.” The Vice President said although the family had lost him, it should be consoled by the fact that he was resting in the bosom of the Almighty father and should be inspired by his principles and hard work.

The Vice President was accompanied by Professor Kasim Kasanga, Minister of Environment, Science and Technology, Mr Ambrose Dery, Deputy Minister of Justice, Mr Clement Eledi Deputy Minister for Lnads and Forestry, Mr Sahanun Mogtari Upper West Regional Minister and Alhaji S.F. Sherrif, Ghana’s Ambassador to Guinea.

The government donated 10 million cedis, two bags of maize, a bag of rice, five crates of soft drink, five cartons of beer while the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development donated five Million cedis with the Vice President personally donating two million cedis and a carton of schnapps. 29 Nov 04
