Veep asks Muslims to embrace the spirit of tolerance

Accra, Oct. 12, GNA- Vice President Alhaji Mahama on Friday congratulated Muslims for a successful Ramadan and called on them to use the spiritual exercise to speed up the development of Ghana in the spirit of tolerance and self-sacrifice.

“Continue to live in peace and harmony with each other and contribute to the progress of this country,” he said in a good will message to Muslims at the Osu Castle on the occasion of Eid-Ul-Fitr, which falls on Saturday.

“Let us thank Allah for this period of celebration. With devoted service to Allah during the period of fasting, we are now filled with love for our neighbours. Hopefully, we also feel more patient, tolerant and better prepared to sacrifice for others.”

Vice President Mahama asked Muslims to live by those virtues long after Ramadan.

” Dear brothers and sisters in Islam, I wish you all Allah’s blessings and a happy Eid celebration,” he said.
