UT Director in Court for nuisance

Kojo Kwakye Owusu, A director of Ubuntu Estates an affiliate of UT Properties on Wednesday appeared before a Madina District Magistrate Court for creating nuisance with waste water.

He pleaded not guilty and was granted bail in the sum of GH¢ 3,000 to reappear on June 1st by the court presided over by Her Worship Priscilla Dapaa Mireku. Prosecuting Mr. Lambert Kwara, of LaNMMA told the court that Owusu has refused to comply with request to abate the nuisance from the estate under his managership.

He said on 11th December at the Ghana flag at Oyarifa, Owusu refused to comply with a notice served him by the Sanitation Unit of La-Nkwantanang-Madina Municipal Assemly (LaNMMA) requesting him to ensure that the nuisance of which waste water flows into neighbouring houses resulting into flooding in the area was abated.

The prosecutor said Owusu, however failed to comply with the request and continued with the nuisance upon which he was summon before the court.
