Use Pope’s death to achieve peace – Zormelo

Winneba, April 12, GNA – Leaders of conflict zones in the world should use the death of Pope John Paul II to find peaceful solutions to their differences.

The Right Reverend Dr Godfred Zormelo said the Pope’s s death, which brought millions of people from all parts of the globe together, irrespective of their political, ethnic, creed and religious standings, offered a golden opportunity to reflect soberly to thrash out their differences amicably.

The departure of the Pontiff even though painful due to his deep affection for mankind and lasting world peace, had injected a greater sense of divine love, understanding and fellow feeling among the people of the world.

Rt Rev Zormelo, Senior Bishop’s Deputy of the African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church was speaking to the Ghana News Agency at the two-week annual Study Conference of Ministers of the Church, at Winneba. More than 800 Pastors of the Church from all over the country are attending the conference.

Rt. Rev. Dr. Zormelo asked all peace-loving world leaders to join religious leaders to fight racism and injustice in the world. He made a special appeal to the Israelis and Palestinians to strive to smoke a lasting peace pipe, which could be used as a “master key” to global peace stability and progress.
