USAID helps Bonsu community to construct school

The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) has assist the people of Bonsu, near Nkoranza to construct a six-classroom block for the local Methodist primary school.

Mr. Joshua Effah-Agyapong, Assemblyman, announced this at a people’s forum to discuss the support the community could offer in the execution of development projects.

He said, but for USAID’s assistance, it would have taken the community several years to undertake the project.

The assemblyman urged the people to rekindle their communal labour spirit to help develop the area. He also announced that the Nkoranza District Assembly would provide the town with a pipe-borne water system, under the government’s Village Infrastructure Project (VIP).

Mr. Effah-Agyepong asked the people to pay their taxes regularly to enable the assembly to initiate more development projects to help improve their living standards.

He expressed gratitude to the Nkoranza District Director of Health Services for posting a midwife to the local clinic and urged the people to raise funds to provide accommodation for her.

Mr. Effah-Agyepong appealed to non-residents to visit home regularly to contribute financially towards on-going development programmes.
