USA charitable society donates to Bibiani Hospital

Bibiani (W/R), April 29, GNA – Helping Hands Medical Missions, a Catholic charitable society based in the United States, has donated hospital equipment and drugs worth 200,000 dollars to the Bibiani Government Hospital.

The donation followed an appeal made by Reverend Father Simon Asamoah, Parish Priest of the Bibiani Catholic Church, during a visit to the US last year.

The items included examination tables, anaesthesia machines, dental examination chairs, clutches, surgical equipment as well as antibiotics, pain killers, blood pressure and diabetic drugs.

Mr Peter Petros, Leader of the Society who made the presentation, said a one week free medical examination would be conducted at Bibiani and its surrounding communities.

Mr Mukabbir Amasa Abass, the hospital administrator, who received the items, thanked the Society for gesture. He appealed for hospital beds for the new children and female wards of the hospital that is not in use because of lack of beds.
