US to boost crime prevention in Ghana

Accra, May 27, GNA – Papa Owusu Ankomah, Minister of the Interior, on Friday appealed to the United States to provide Ghana with crime prevention equipment to boost operations of the security agencies. He said the Government would also appreciate if the US could provide the country with the necessary assistance to check drug trafficking.

Papa Owusu Ankomah was speaking during a meeting with the US Ambassador to Ghana, Mrs Mary Carlin Yates at his office. He said although the US had committed resources in the past to support crime prevention and law enforcement, it would appreciate further assistance to facilitate progress.
