US Students Donate to Korle Bu

Students from Eastern Michigan University, Ypsilanti, USA have presented ?2,272,000 worth of medicine to the Children’s Hospital at Korle-Bu. The presentation took place yesterday in Accra, at the office of the Provost Medical Library, Korle-Bu.

The students donated a large quantity of Ibuprofen, a pain and inflammation controlling medicine, for those suffering from sickle cell disease.

The medication was acquired by the students at the request of Dr. Onike Rodriguez of the Children’s Hospital.

Rev. Professor A.S. Ayettey, Provost, College of Health Sciences, University of Ghana received the presentation and thanked the U.S students.

Dr. Richard L. Douglas of Eastern Michigan University, and senior Fulbright Visiting Scholar at the University of Ghana assisted Elizabeth Brant and Mary Dankwa who are in the country for internship under Mr Kombian Kambarin, Hospital Administrator to do the presentation.
