US sends massage of condolence to President

The United States Secretary of State, Colin Powell, sent a message of condolence to President John Agyekum Kufuor on the Stadium tragedy.

A statement from the Office of the President signed by Ms. Elizabeth Ohene, Government Spokesperson, quoted the message as saying: “As your government deals with this sad loss of lives and looks for ways to provide comfort and hope to those most affected by this tragedy, please be assured of our deepest sympathy.

“Our hearts are filled with sorrow and concern for the families and friends of those who lost their lives,” the statement added.
