Kenyase (Brong Ahafo), 3 Nov. The US-based International Foundation for Education and Self-Help (IFESH) has initiated a programme to provide some of the staffing needs of the country’s universities in the areas of science and business studies. IFESH, founded by the renowned African American civil rights activist, the Reverend Leon Sullivan, has already under its Teachers For Africa (TFA) programme, sent 14 lecturers to the Universities of Ghana and Cape Coast.. Mr. Kwesi Dzidzienyo, IFESH country representative, said this when he spoke to the GNA at Kenyase in the Brong Ahafo region, where a volunteer of the programme, Miss Dawn Dickerson, a science tutor, has been posted to teach at Ola Girls Secondary School. Mr. Dzidzienyo said his outfit is concentrating on the universities because of their inability to attract and retain lecturers. He said IFESH, which is a non-profit making non-governmental organisation, will continue to concentrate on providing science and business lecturers to support Africa’s quest for rapid development.
