US-based Ghanaian says investor confidence must not be ruined

A Ghanaian based in the US has appealed to supporters of political parties to avoid any nasty post-elections incidence likely to send jitters and ruin investor confidence.

Mr Jimmy Owusu-Kwarteng told the GNA in an interview that it was important for all to do everything to uphold the nation’s peace and that the country enjoys a lot of goodwill and international admiration for its democracy and this needed to be protected.

He said the unity, peace, stability and security of the country, should take precedence over individual or group interest and it must be appreciated that in every contest, there were bound to be losers and winners.

He said people should quickly put behind them the elections and work together to bring progress.

Mr Owusu-Kwarteng described as worrying the reported cases of violent attacks on some political party supporters and said that should stop.
