Urban residents urged to provide facilities for rural areas

Accra, (Greater Accra) 4 Jan. ’99,

People resident in the urban centres have been asked to help provide modern facilities similar to those they enjoy in their places of sojourn, in rural communities. Mr Christian K. Kuadey, chairman of the Accra/Tema branch of Agbozume Citizens’ Association, at the association’s first general meeting in Accra over the weekend, reminded urban residents that they may go back to their various hometowns on retirement. The association had been dormant because of apathy, and organisational and other problems, he said stressing the need for members to pay their special contribution and other levies to finance projects at Agbozume in the Volta Region.
