Uprooted tree crushes four to death in latest Northern rainstorm

Four traders are confirmed dead after a rainstorm swept through Walewale in the West Mamprusi District in the Northern region last night.

Over 30 people are also said to have sustained various degrees of injuries.

This is the fourth rainstorm to have hit the region recently, leaving over ten thousand residents homeless.

The traders, who met their untimely death hours ago, had taken shelter under a shed at the Walewale market when an uprooted tree crushed into the shed. They died instantly.

Properties and buildings, including three schools were destroyed and electricity supply to the town has been cut.
