Upper West Union congratulates President Kufuor

Wa, Jan. 25, GNA- The Upper West Union, a pressure group, has called on the government to speed up work on the proposed Kamba irrigation scheme to promote all-year-round farming. The group also called on Kufuor’s administration to link the Upper West Region with other regional capitals with tarred roads. This was contained in a statement issued by the Union to commended President John Agyekum Kufuor for his re-lection for another four-year term.

The statement commended the government for taking steps to upgrade schools in the Region and initiating poverty reduction projects. It also hailed the nomination of Mr Ambrose Dery as Regional Minister, saying the youth had welcomed the choice with euphoria. The statement said, the Union was conscious of the commitment of the ruling New patriotic Party to good governance and the rule of law and pledged its support to these national objectives.
