Wa, July 27, GNA – The Upper West region has set up seven sub-committees to plan various programmes and also raise funds towards the country’s golden jubilee celebrations.
A statement signed by the Regional Coordinating Director, Mr David Yakubu, asked the committees to convene a meeting and choose their respective chairpersons to start working towards the tasks assigned them without delay.
The sub-committees are the programmes and publicity sub-committee, development sub-committee, the jubilee school sub-committee and the regional guides sub-committee.
The rest are the coordination sub-committee, the protocol sub-committee and the fund raising sub-committee. The Regional Minister, Mr Ambrose Dery, is the chairman of the regional anniversary planning committee.
Activities marking the anniversary will reach its climax in March next year.
