Upper East NPP Regional Chairman dies

Bolgatanga, Dec. 11, GNA- The Upper East Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Alhaji Bawa Abdulai, died on Sunday while he was being flown from the Navrongo Hospital in the Upper East Region to the Kole Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra for treatment. Before his death, the 58-year-old Regional Chairman, popularly known as Alhaji TUC, was in a comma and was admitted to the Navrongo Hospital for three days.

When his condition became critical, he was being flown to the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra, but was pronounced dead on the way. Meanwhile, a number of party members the Ghana News Agency (GNA) interviewed in the Bolgatanga Municipality have expressed shock and sadness at the death of the Regional Chairman.

They said his death was a big blow to the party, especially during the forthcoming presidential and parliamentary election.
