Upper East, Northern communities receive maize from church

The New Apostolic Church has distributed 540 bags of maize worth GH¢44,820 to some deprived communities in the Northern and Upper East regions.

The Kpemale community, near Nankpanduri in the Northern Region, received 90 bags of maize, Yuarugu-Moshie, Yougbarey and Apatanga all in the Upper East Region received 90, 340 and 20 bags of maize respectively.

Apostle Samuel Arthur, head pastor of the church in charge of the Northern Sector, announced this to the GNA in Tamale, after the distribution of maize at Nakpanduri in the Yunyoo District. He said the donation was given to leaders of the beneficiary communities for onward distribution to the people.

Apostle Arthur said the gesture was not aimed at winning souls for Christ, ‘’but to ensure that those who are hungry are fed’’. He said the church had also provided wells for communities in the Upper East to prevent the people from contracting water borne diseases.
