Upper East GJA gests new executive

Bolgatanga, Aug. 2, GNA – The Upper East Regional branch of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) has elected new executive members. The exercise, supervised by the Bolgatanga district office of the Electoral Commission, saw Mr Nurudeen Muhammed Issahag of the Ghana News

Agency and Mr Abraham Dimmie of the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation emerging unopposed as chairman and vice chairman respectively. Mr Chris Avoka of the GBC polled 11 votes to take the position of Secretary, as against 10 votes polled by his opponent, Mr Eric Amoh of the GNA. By consensus, Mr John Arsene of the News Times Corporation and Mr Amoh were nominated to fill the positions of Treasurer and assistant secretary respectively, as no candidates filed for those positions. Twenty-one out of a total membership of 25 exercised their franchise.
