Update: Severed head pregnant woman retrieved

Police in Asante Bekwai in the Ashanti region have retrieved the severed head of the 26-year-old pregnant woman who was murdered by her brother-in-law in the area four days ago.

The headless body of the mother of three Mavis Boateng was discovered in the early hours of Sunday under a tree after the suspect kwame Michael,18, allegedly lured her into the bush to assist him to carry cocoa beans from his farm to the house last Saturday.

Police arrested the suspect but indigenes forced his release following claims by some fetish priests that the deceased had been detained by dwarfs.

District Police Commander for Bekwai ASP Edward Obeng told Starr News the discovery of the head is a major boost to investigations into the matter.
