Update of NPP Parliamentary Candidates in Upper East

Fumbisi (U/E), April 7, GNA – The New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Upper East Region has held primaries in six of the region’s 13 constituencies to elect parliamentary candidates for the upcoming elections in December.

At the Builsa South constituency, Theodore Ayarik, an Accountant at the Regional Co-ordinating Council (RCC) was elected while Mrs Agnes Asangalisa Chigabatia, a businesswoman won the votes for Builsa South.

Delegates in the Nabdam Constituency elected Mr Boniface Gambila, National Service Director, to contest the election while Mr Leo Kaba was elected the candidate for Chiana-Paga.

In the various constituencies, the candidates thanked the delegates for the confidence reposed in them and called on supporters and sympathizers of the party to campaign vigorously to ensure their victory.

They pledged to source funding for the construction of irrigable dams to improve on agriculture, especially during dry-season farming. Earlier, Bongo and Zebilla constituencies elected Mr Andrew Awuni, a Deputy Minister of Information and Mr Moses Appiah, respectively, to contest the parliamentary seats.
