Update: Kwaw Kese remanded two weeks in prison custody

A Kumasi Circuit Court has remanded popular Ghanaian rapper Kwaw Kese to two weeks in prison custody ahead of the next hearing date December 8.

Abodam, as he is popularly known, was arraigned in Judge William Boampong’s court for using narcotic drug without lawful authority.

He was arrested Saturday night while smoking weed in public.

The court denied the rapper’s lawyer Nana Kwesi Boitie’s plea for his client to be granted bail ahead of the second hearing date.

The prosecuting officer Emmanuel Aconnor, who is the head of Judicial Police for the Ashanti region argued that Kwaw’s release may compromise their investigations.

According to Starr News Ashanti regional correspondent Isaac Bediako who was in court, the ‘man insane’ was laughing the entire moment in court.

Kwaw Kese when arrested on Saturday night, was reported to have told the police there was no need for them to arrest him because it was no secret he smoked marijuana.
