Accra, Nov. 17 GNA – Thirty-five students, who sought and gained admission into the University of Ghana in 2003 – 2004 Academic year with falsified results from the West African Examination Council, have been dismissed with immediate effect.
They were made up eight Level 300 students and 27 Level 200 Students, a release from the University said. The Acting Director of Academic Affairs Directorate of the University of Ghana, Legon, Mr T. Tabi signed the dismissal letters dated November 8, 2004.
The Level 300 students include: Aboluah Elvis; Saffo Francis Kwadwo; Atsu Victor Marvelous; Frimpong Seth; Quaye Amos Okai Menah; Quaye Judith; Opare Geoffreh and Tammem Rauf Musah.
Those at Level 200 were: Obeng Kwame Amoako; Osei Patrick Yeboah; Appiah Solomon Ofori; Agyei Mensah; Amoako Patrick; Nanor Abraham; Addai Michael Boamah; Agyeman Richard; Ahenkorah Alice; Amenyah Edwain; Amu Josephine; Archer John Kabral; Arthur Winky Scott and Arimiyawu Eman. The rest were: Asare Janet; Daddah Senam; Dzameshi Doris; Ekuful Moses Appiah; Gyabaah Victoria; Opare Meshack Kwasi; Okyere Vanessa; Tiifu Hawa; Adamu Boniface Fusheini; Anshong Eugene Adjetey; Caesar Prince; Mensah Emmanuel and Akuamoah Michael Omari.
The release said the letters of dismissal have been addressed to the affected students through their halls and permanent home addresses. The students have been asked to return any University property in their custody to their respective Senior Tutors and to surrender their Student Identity Cards to the Acting Director of the Academic Affairs Directorate of the University of Ghana and leave the University with immediately.
The release said the dismissed students would not be entitled to any refund of fees paid during the entire period of their stay in the University.
Copies of the dismissal letters were sent to the Registrars of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi; University of Cape Coast, Cape Coast; University of Education, Winneba and University for Development Studies, Tamale.
