UNWTO boss endorses Ghana as a preferred tourist destination

The Head of United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) Dr Taleb Rifai has called on potential tourists around the world to visit Ghana once in their lifetime.

The UNWTO Secretary General who spoke as a guest at Ghana’s Independence Day Celebration in Berlin, Germany organised by Ghana’s Embassy in the European country said potential tourists to Ghana are guaranteed a lifetime experience.

‘’There is nothing like the experience of being with the wonderful, beautiful, warm, and hospitable people of Ghana,” he noted.

Dr Rifai was full of praise for Ghana’s Minister of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts Mrs Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare and Ghana’s Ambassador to Germany H.E Akua Sena Dansua.

He said the two were the best examples of what Ghana can produce. “They are full of warmth, energy, love and dedication for their country”, he added.

Dr Rifai said by far Ghana offers one of the most diverse tourist products, particularly its rich culture and eco-system for every tourist.

In his estimation, tourists who have not visited Ghana yet “don’t know what they are missing.”

Dr Rifai and his team from UNWTO had earlier visited Ghana’s stand at the just-ended International Tourism Exhibition (ITB Berlin 2015) to hold discussions with Ghana’s Minister of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Mrs. Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare on UNWTO’s decision to choose Ghana to host the UNWTO’s conference on Re-branding the Image of Africa on the 17th-19th August, 2015.
