University Lecturers To Go On Strike

The University Teachers Association of Ghana (UTAG) is in the process of organising members to embark on strike to back their demand for the payment of their Book and Research Allowances.

A letter signed by Dr Dominic Adotei Edoh, President of the University of Ghana, Legon, Branch of UTAG, and circulated among members, urged them to exercise restraint as the Branch made efforts to get other branches to join the strike.

The Legon UTAG had resolved at a meeting held on April 17 to begin the strike action on Friday, April 25. The letter said efforts were also being made to get the government to pay the allowances.
