United Cadres Front dissociates itself from new group

The United Cadres Front (UCF), the political vanguard of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), on Monday dissociated itself from a new group calling itself the United Cadre Front.

A statement issued by the UCF and copied to the Ghana News Agency also dissociated itself from a congress purported to have been held in Sunyani on Friday 28th November, by the same group which has registered as a non-governmental organisation.

“As much as we respect any individual or group to organise itself for its own purpose, we wish to emphatically reiterate that, the cadre movement being re-organised under the leadership of Comrade Kofi Aikins and his team, elected into office at a duly conducted congress held in Kumasi from the 12 to 14th April, 2013, is recognised by the Presidency and party leadership,” it said.

The statement said the UCF would continue to be loyal and dedicated to the cause of the NDC and the Better Ghana agenda under the leadership of President John Dramani Mahama.

“We therefore resolve to do our utmost best to keep the cadre movement ever united and productive in terms of national mobilisation and organisation of the people of Ghana to ensure that the Better Ghana agenda gracefully succeed,” it added.
