United Cadres Front celebrates 27th anniversary

Accra, June 18, GNA – The United Cadres Front (UCF) on Friday called on all cadres and progressives to rededicate themselves to the ideals of the group as it celebrated the 27th anniversary of June 19, 1983 incident. A statement issued in Accra and signed by Mr Tom C. Brown, Secretary of the UCF, said; “We salute all those who fought gallantly and in the process lost their lives while others got injured.” Members of the UCF uphold the principles of June 4 uprising including probity, accountability decentralisation and the empowerment of the masses. The statement said the group would resist attempts by individuals and groupings to exploit the organisation to further their future political ambitions.

It called on all cadres to close their ranks and remain vigilant to continue the struggle to protect and defend the government of the National Democratic Congress. “We take this opportunity to remind all cadres and progressives that the future is not going to be a leisurely stroll and rosy but with hard work we shall better our lot and that of all privileged Ghanaians,” it said. 18 June 10
