Unit Committees urged to help assembly in revenue mobilization

Daboase, June 7, GNA – Mr. Anthony Bassaw, the District Chief Executive of the Mpohor Wassa East, on Tuesday has called on Unit Committee members to assist revenue collectors to collect revenue.

He said often unit committee members and for that matter people in position within the assembly usually prevented revenue collectors from collecting daily tolls from relatives and affected the assembly’s income. Mr. Bassaw said this when he inaugurated the Unit Committees within the 34 electoral areas of the Daboase District Assembly.

He appealed to the unit committee members to work as a team devoid of any political affiliation in order to achieve the common goal of raising the standard of living of the people.

Mr Bassaw told them to stay away from chieftaincy issues.
