Unique Life Assurance donates to Korle-Bu

Unique Life Assurance Company Limited on Thursday donated television sets with decoders worth GH¢ 60, 000 to the Children’s Ward I, of the Orthopaedic Block at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital.

The Company would also be responsible for maintaining subscriptions to programmes on the decoders. Mr Kingsley Agyemang, Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Company, said the donation was the result of an appeal made by officials of the Ward for assistance in replacing the old television set.

He said as a Life Insurance Company it deemed it expedient to meet the demand of the Ward to help in speeding up the recovery process of the patients. Mr Emmanuel Ameyaw-Buronyah, Administrator at the Accident and Orthopaedic Department of the Hospital, thanked the Company for the support.

He said the television set would help in keeping the children under control when they are restless and also help in bridging their educational gap while on admission.

Mr Mustapha Salifu, Public Relations Officer of the Hospital, thanked the Company for the donation and expressed the hope that the gesture marks the beginning of a fruitful relationship between the two institutions.

Ms Josephine Dosah, Head of Sales and Marketing, of the Company Limited, explained that it was part of its Corporate Social Responsibility to assist the needy and support societal needs.

She explained that Unique which is owned by Labour Enterprise Trust of Trades Union Congress and other strategic investors provides a wide range of Life Insurance policies to help secure future funds for all workers.
