Union members urged to avail themselves of the new Labour Law

Koforidua, Aug 24, GNA – A trade unionist has appealed to members of the Trade Union Congress to keep abreast with the new labour law to be able to face challenges in their work places.

Ms Anita Alberta Adjei, the Second National Trustee of the Public Service Workers Union, said by so doing members of the union would not only rely on its executives to solve labour issues when they crop up but would also be in a position to tackle them.

Ms Adjei said this at the 4th Eastern Regional Women’s Committee Conference of the PSWU on Tuesday at Koforidua.

She advised the delegates not to see the Women Committee as a separate entity of the TUC but as a motivational avenue. Ms Sally Agyemang, Ms Mary Sakyi and Ms Mary Vittor, were elected unopposed as Chairperson, Vice chairperson and Secretary to steer the affairs of the committee for the next four years.

Ms Agyemang pledged that they would work assiduously so that by the next four years, they hope to rise with the men to move the TUC forward. 24 Aug 05
