Unilever commences World Oral Health Day Celebration with Health Walk

Unilever Ghana one of the leading brands in the Manufacturing Industry together with its partners have begun the celebration of World Oral Health Day (WOHD) with a health walk.

Ahead of the main event which comes off on the 20th March, 2017 at the International Trade Fair Center, the company today has organized a health walk as part of the build up to the grand event.

The Health walk which stated from Ayi Mensah was climaxed with an aerobic session at Peduase Lodge in the Eastern region. Participants of the health walk were taken through several exercise routines to improve their fitness and wellbeing.

Speaking with the Head of Communication and Sustainability, Unilever Ghana, Henry Herbert Malm stated that the company is making sure people are aware of what it takes to have proper Oral Health education to live well.

He mentioned that Oral Health Care is directly associated with Pepsodent, one of Unilever’s profitable products which is why this year’s WOHD celebration is spearheaded by Pepsodent.

Also he stated that the company has a weeklong celebration and activities lined up are; oral health talk in selected malls across the city, distribution of sample of products, dental screening and a grand durbar to commemorate the day.

Herbert also encourage the public to brush their teeth twice daily using toothpaste containing fluoride

Some participants of the health walk included staffs of Unilever, members of the Ghana Dental Association (GDA) and the general public.

WOHD is an International day celebrated yearly worldwide to highlight the benefits of healthy mouth and raise awareness on the issues of Oral Health.
