Unidentified Fulani herdsman beheaded in Gbari

An unidentified cattle herdsman believed to be a Fulani was beheaded at Gbari, in the Jirapa District of the Upper West Region, when he went out with his cattle for grazing on Monday.

Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Edmond Nyamekye, Regional Staff Officer and acting Public Relations Officer, who confirmed the story to the GNA, said the herdsman is believed to be about 20 years old.

The Police Officer said that the tragedy occurred around 1230 hours on Monday and the headless body of the deceased was found about 300 meters away from the crime spot.

ASP Nyamekye said there were cutlass wounds on the body and apart from the head, all other parts of the body were intact.

He called on the general public to volunteer information that could help the police to arrest those behind the murder.

ASP Nyamekye said the body of the herdsman has been deposited at the morgue at Jirapa for autopsy and identification.
