Unidentified body washed ashore at Chorkor beach

Accra April 18, GNA – Residents of Chorkor on Tuesday morning rushed to the beach to catch a glimpse of a dead man believed to be among holiday makers, who thronged the beach to enjoy the Easter holidays. When the GNA visited the beach, residents had covered the body of the unidentified man, who had been washed ashore earlier in the day and reported the matter to the Police at Chorkor.

Ms Joana Mawuli, a resident at Lantemaami, near the beach, said she heard the news at about 0800 hours and also rushed to catch a glimpse of the body.

According to Ms Mawuli and other residents, the man was not known in the vicinity.

A Police source indicated that they received a complaint from a resident at about 1115 hours and were mobilising a vehicle to go and pick up the body and to start investigations into the matter.
