Accra, July 16, GNA – An Accra Circuit Court presided over by Mrs Elizabeth Ankomah on Friday remanded Eric Tugba, unemployed, for forgery.
The accused pleaded guilty to the charges of forging of official document and possessing forged document and is to re-appear on July 25. Prosecuting, Chief Inspector Abavelin said on 15th July 2004 the police received information that Tugba had submitted a forged letterhead from the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports to the British High Commission requesting for entry visas for two persons.
He said personnel from the Bureau of National Investigation (BNI) were sent to the High Commission, who arrested the accused. Chief Inspection Abavelin said a search in the house of the accused revealed several forged letterheads of ministries and state organisations, fake stamps, passports, forged official documents on diskettes, a laptop computer and a printer.
