Unemployed remanded for defilement

Bekwai, April 28, GNA – A Circuit Court at Asante-Bekwai has remanded a 22-year unemployed, Kwabena Gyamfi, for defiling a 13-year-old girl.

He pleaded not guilty and would re-appear on May 6. Police Chief Inspector Thomas Bossman Tuffuor told the court that the accused lured the girl into his room on February 26 and sexually abused her.

He said someone informed the victim’s uncle, Mr Joseph Annor, a teacher who went to the accused person’s house and knocked several times on his door but he refused to open the door.

Gyamfi kept the girl until midnight when he opened the door and pushed her out. A report was made to the police and he was arrested.
