Unemployed man jailed 4 months

The Tarkwa District court 1 has sentenced, Elvis Cudjoe, unemployed to four months imprisonment for unlawful entry and causing damage to a wooden trap door valued at GHc100.00.

He pleaded guilty to both charges.

Presenting the facts of the case, Inspector Faustina Celestina Anaman told the court, presided over by Mr. Jonathan Nunoo, that the complainant, Joana Cudjoe, a trader, resides at Samahu near Tarkwa.

She said on October 15, at about 2330 hours, whilst the complainant and her family were asleep, the convict, who lives at Asamankakraba, a suburb of Tarkwa, destroyed a wooden trap door that led to their room.

Inspector Anaman said, immediately the complainant saw the convict in his room she started shouting for help for fear of their lives.

The prosecutor said neighbours rushed to the scene and arrested Elvis, who attempted to escape, and he was sent to the police station.
