Unemployed man commits suicide

Aflao, Nov. 20, GNA – A 35-year old unemployed man who was to travel to a European country on an invitation, last Tuesday committed suicide by hanging at Aflao.

A family source said Richard Damesi, the deceased who has been cured of mental ailment sometime ago, had an invitation from a relative in Germany and had just finalized travel procedures when the incident occurred.

He said the deceased left their Avoeme family home last Tuesday afternoon but failed to return until his bloated body was found hanging on a rope on a mango tree at the outskirts of the town.

Mr. Baba Moro, Assistant Superintendent of Police in-charge of crime at Aflao confirmed the story and said the Police conducted normal crime investigations but found no foul play and has since handed over the body to the bereaved family for burial.
