Unemployed jailed nine years for defiling 13-year-old girl

Juaso (Ash), April. 23, GNA – Adamu Francis, a 24-year-old unemployed, has been sentenced to nine years imprisonment in hard labour by the Juaso Circuit Court for defilement. Francis pleaded guilty.

Police Superintendent Francis Oppong told the court that on April 08 the victim, who was returning from Kade to Saabo near Obogu arrived at Nkyesah, about five miles from Saabo where he met Francis. Since it was quiet late, Francis offered to escort the victim to Saabo and suggested they used a bush path which he said was a bit shorter. Half-way through their journey, Francis forced the victim to remove a two-year-old baby she was carrying at her back and sexually assaulted her.

He then abandoned her and cautioned her not to inform anyone about her ordeal.

The victim got home and informed her parents who reported the case to the Obogu Police.
