Unemployed jailed 7 years for defilement

Foster Kpor, an 18 year-old unemployed man has been sentenced to 7 years imprisonment for defiling a six year-old girl by the Tarkwa Circuit Court.

He pleaded guilty.

Chief Inspector Edward Paddy told the court presided over by Mr Samuel Obeng Diawuo, that the complainant Sophia Baidoo, is a streamstress and mother of the victim while the convict is a resident at Kaperebakrom near Tarkwa.

He said on September 9, at about 1500 hours, the complainant was at home sewing her clothes when she saw the victim coming out of the convict’s room crying with blood oozing from her vagina.

Inspector Paddy said upon interrogation, the victim revealed to her mother that the offender lured her into his room and forcibly had sexual intercourse with her.

He said the complainant then made a report to the police and was issued with a medical form to send the victim to the Tarkwa Government Hospital for examination.

Inspector Paddy said, the offender was arrested later and after some investigation he was charged with the offense.
