Unemployed fined for being on Goldfields concession

Isaac Fosu, 22, unemployed, has been fined GH? 840.00 for unlawfully being on the concession of Goldfields Ghana Limited (GGL) Tarkwa Mine.

Fosu, who pleaded guilty, would in default, serve two years imprisonment in hard labour.

Police Detective Chief Inspector Oscar Amponsah told the Court presided over by Mr Justice Michael Cudjoe, that the complainants are security officers of GGL, Tarkwa mine.

Detective Amponsah said on May 29, at around 1130 am the complainants were on their usual patrol duty when they saw Fosu, who hails from Huniso in the Prestea Huni/Valley District, with a pinch bar at Kontravechi area within Goldfields concession.

The Prosecutor said the convict was arrested with the exhibit and handed over to the police.

He said after investigation Fosu was charged with the offence.
