Asamankese, Nov. 1, GNA – Clement Ofori who conspired with five others to steal three computers from the computer laboratory of St Paul Community Secondary School at Akyem Asafo had pleaded guilty to the charge of conspiracy to steal, unlawful entry and stealing.
His sentence had been deferred to November 8, this year.
The five others, who conspired with Ofori to steal the three computers and their accessories estimated at 30 million cedis, are on the run.
Prosecuting, Police Chief Inspector Ben Nyonator told the court that the six accused persons charted a taxi from Accra to Akyem Asafo in the Eastern Region.
They then broke into St Paul Community Secondary School’s computer laboratory through the back window and stole the computers and their accessories.
A report was made to the Police and during investigations Ofori was arrested.
Ofori admitted the offence in a cautioned statement to the police in the presence of an independent witness.
Chief Inspector Nyonator explained that, Ofori was arrested with the assistance of the taxi driver who was hired for their operation. He explained that, the stolen items were yet to be retrieved.
