UNAG organises peace walk

Takoradi, July 3, GNA – Mr Joe Bunluuro, former Presiding Member of the Shama Ahanta East Metropolitan Assembly, on Tuesday advised Ghanaians to do politics constructively to ensure national development.

Politics should unite instead of dividing the country especially when Ghana is trying to find its feet economically, he said.

Addressing members of the Effiakuma branch of the United Nations Association of Ghana (UNAG) after a 10-kilometre peace march, Mr Bunluuro, expressed concern about the conduct of politics by some people.

He urged Ghanaians to have the nation at heart and to assist in the implementation of development programmes.

Mr Bunluuro advised them against involving the Association in partisan politics, which would distract its attention from the noble objective of explaining and supporting programmes of the United Nations.

Mr Jacob Ghansah, Western Regional Secretary of the Ghana Red Cross Society, stressed the need for Ghanaians to be tolerant to promote peace. The march was to mark the 43rd anniversary of Ghana’s Republic and United Nations International Co-operative Day.
